Substance Use Disorder Counselor II (Bilingual Preferred)

Location: San Marcos, CA

Job Description:

  • Provides individual and group counseling, education classes, orientation, individual appointments, make-up groups for alcohol and drug issues
  • Facilitates and conducts programs for participants in ways to reduce the negative impact of the use of chemical and alcohol involvement
  • Completes case management, including maintenance of individual client files, group rosters, & group notes
  • Conducts re-reinstatements, intakes, transfers, orientation, and other client activities as needed.


  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
  • Must have a minimum of 2080 hours in providing educational or counseling services to persons
  • Knowledge of generally accepted principals of CD treatment, education, and prevention in a group and individual setting
  • Ability to promote client compliance and satisfaction with program requirements, and deal with alcohol and/or other drug problems
  • Minimum two years alcoholism counseling experience effectively with a wide variety of client personalities

Certifications / Requirements:

  • AOD certification or equivalent alcohol counseling experience 
  • Registered or Certified AOD Counselor in the State of California
